• New features:
  • Completely reworked User Interface & Experience – With added dramatic atmosphere!
    • Ekahau AI Pro’s UI color scheme has been changed to Dark. We hope you like it painted black, but please give us feedback if you want to see other color schemes in the application as well.
    • General functionality has been re-organized into separate workspaces: Design, Inspect, Survey and Live. Each workspace clearly focuses on a particular aspect of the application and gives more room to more specialized functionality.
    • There are also thousand other smaller & bigger UI changes you’ll encounter when you start to use this new version of Ekahau AI Pro. We’ve dusted out all the old icons, cleaned up all different views, vacuumed all corners of the UI and more other cleaning analogies!
  • New Inspect-workspace – Getting down to details
    • Inspect-workspace is not only a successor to the old Survey Inspector, but it also combines the functionality of the AP list, visualization details and the map view. All this makes this workspace perfect for investigating Wi-Fi information from all angles!
    • This new workspace shows both the overall view for the floor and detailed location-based information when you’ve selected a point on the map (either ON or OFF the survey path).
  • Network Filter and new filtering options – More interesting than it sounds (really)!
    • In Ekahau AI Pro we’ve replaced the old All/My/Other/Selected filter with a new & powerful Network Filter tool.
    • This new filter allows you to easily view your own networks, individual SSIDs or even specific type of access points. Additionally, this new filter doesn’t only filter visualizations, it also filters the APs on the list and map view as well.
    • Additionally, you can now easily view heatmaps of selected APs…well…by selecting the APs in question. Simple as that!
  • Simulation Support for 6GHz frequency – Wi-Fi highway just got some extra lanes!
    • Ekahau AI Pro supports the new Wi-Fi 6E technology and allows you to create simulated plans with it.
    • All the old and new planning functionalities work with the 6GHz frequency so you can start creating your simulated 6GHz projects today.
    • And what’s a sandbox without any new toys? Maybe a tiny desert? In any case, we’ve also added a nice selection of 6GHz access points to this release so you can get started with your 6GHz plans immediately.
  • Next Generation AI Auto-Planner – Big leap via small steps!
    • Introducing the proper next-generation AI Auto-Planner for Ekahau AI Pro. Now we are talking about the “AI” in Ekahau AI Pro.
    • AI Auto-Planner’s new algorithm generates superior results by iterating on the generated plan until the optimal solution is found. Previously only one best guess was used to generate the final plan.
    • Enjoy new animated “Dancing APs” half-time show while the AI Auto-Planner is working its magic!
  • Channel Planner 2.0 – Upping the number game
    • We’ve now properly upgraded our Channel Planner and its algorithm – and it’s now better. Much better. Check it out to see the difference!
  • Network Simulator – Simulation through measurements
    • This new innovative feature lets you see how your survey projects would look with different AP models.
    • Network Simulator takes measured data and simulated antenna patterns – and conjures them into new generated results allowing you to simulate various alternative plans for your measured networks.
    • Please note, this feature is still in BETA but functionally it’s all there, so feel free to try it out and give us feedback on it.
  • Automatic Wall Calibration Tool – Attention to Attenuation
    • Wall Calibration Tool (not to be confused with Wall Detection BETA) allows you to easily calculate the attenuation for your walls with the click of a button.
    • This tool takes the measurements in your projects and uses them to figure out how much each wall type is actually attenuating the signals.
    • Additionally you can also calibrate individual wall segments if you prefer a more “hands-on” approach.
  • Simulated Reflections and Diffractions – The Art of Bouncing & Bending!
    • After a lot of heads were scratched and a lot of coffee was drunk, our R&D-team has now been able to model reflections and diffractions into our simulated projects.
    • This means that simulated projects are now able to model how the signals bounce from various materials and how they bend around pillars and corners.
    • Modelling this behavior is quite performance-intensive, so the reflections & diffractions are currently only enabled when using MAX-accuracy in simulated projects.
• Improvements:
  • Added Summary views to Auto-Planner, Channel Planner and the new Network Simulator. That about sums it up!
  • Inspected areas are now selected in Inspect-workspace and Design-workspace by clicking the area border.
  • Ekahau AI Pro has now a proper landing screen to welcome the users and to give some guidance.
  • Added ability to assign band-specific attenuation values for walls and attenuation areas.
  • Redesigned the settings views for Wall tool and Attenuation Area tool. After we got started with the previous issue we just couldn’t help ourselves!
  • Improved visualization loading times when making changes on individual APs with more effective visualization logic.
  • Implemented right-click menu for quickly editing multiple access points on the AP list. There is indeed a right button on a mouse as well, intriguing!
  • Changed the style and functionality of loading bars. We no longer show loading bars for very short (less than 1s) load times, which makes the access point manipulation on a map now one smooooooth operation.
  • Implemented a legend for Live-workspace’s Spectrum view to better explain function of the spectrum colors. Damn, those things weren’t just a cool screen saver after all…
  • Implemented selectable color schemes for spectrum. Click the legend in Live-workspace to open the selection. Even if they are not a screen saver, it doesn’t mean it shouldn’t look cool…
  • Reorganized the visualization and floor selection to the bottom of the application window, so that they make up a sensible trio with the new “Network” selection down there.
  • CAD Import now also automatically saves the used layer/wall combinations and applies them to future CAD floor plans if applicable, saving users the tedium of assigning the same layers and walls again and again.
  • Once again, we also just had to give the whole CAD Import dialog a proper facelift as well. And that we did.
  • Auto-Planner shows in real-time how the plan is being generated and iterated upon. Now THAT’S entertainment!
  • Added ability to “Hide” access points which you don’t want to see in the project or in reporting.
  • Access Points list Options-menu now shows only the relevant options based on the current access points selection.
  • Changed and simplified the application installation process. Ekahau AI Pro starts immediately after installation and launches in High DPI -mode by default.
  • Auto-Planner dialog has also received a facelift and we’ve also split the dialog into more user-friendly “Basic” settings and the more familiar “Advanced” settings.
  • “Not placed on any map” section in AP list is now renamed to “No Location” and moved to the bottom of the AP list.
  • “Channel to Show” setting in Channel Interference now defaults to “Primary Association”. As a friendly reminder, you can still set new defaults from View-menu.
  • Auto-Planner and Channel Planner only allow you to select specific 2.4GHz channel combinations, because there are only a few non-interfering combinations on 2.4GHz frequency.
  • Visualization Options and Legend options are now combined into a single Visualization Settings view. You can find this new view by clicking the visualization legend.
  • Relocated the “Auto-Refresh” and “View as Mobile Device” toggles to visualization settings view from the main UI.
  • Visualization Statistics button was removed from Design-workspace, but the visualization statistics can be now found easily in the Inspect-workspace.
  • Miscellaneous tweaks and improvements
• Fixed issues:
  • Fixed macOS 12 (Monterey) stability issues with an updated JavaFX version.
  • Unified the default settings between Network Health/Issues and Channel Interference visualizations.
  • Removed unnecessary visualization refreshes from various locations.
  • Resolved certain value rounding issues between various different views.
  • Fixed the issue where background noise color for spectrum was slightly different for different bands.
  • Fixed an issue where default Opacity setting is now properly 70%, instead of totally incorrect 71%. OCD-induced eyebrow twitching was reduced by 72,8% with this fix.
  • Visualization statistics are now displayed correctly in reporting.
  • Tweaked Ubiquiti grouping logic. Ah yes, it wouldn’t be a proper release without grouping logics fixes.

  • Please note: Cisco DNA Center integration is coming soon. Ekahau recognizes the Cisco DNA Center as a very important tool for many of our customers. We have been integrating with Cisco DNAC for a long time and will continue that integration with Ekahau AI Pro. We are in the final testing stages and the integration will go live soon.
