The WiFi Connection builds software for Wi-Fi engineers. Our purpose is to make Wi-Fi engineering more accessible, more efficient and grounded in evidence. We do that through Wi-Fi Studio, our browser-based platform, and the free Engineer Toolbox, and we work with engineers worldwide.
The experience behind Wi-Fi Studio and the Engineer Toolbox
Matthew Wenham founded The WiFi Connection in 2019. Before that, he worked as a wireless and wired networking tools specialist, managed the wireless product and services portfolio across EMEA for Fujitsu, a global systems integrator, and managed the UK and Ireland for Ekahau.
Alongside running The WiFi Connection, Matthew is Director of Sales and Pre-Sales for EMEA and APAC at AccelTex Solutions and Ventev, both Hubbell companies, which means he works with antenna and connectivity hardware day to day.
The WiFi Connection began as a Wi-Fi services and tools business. Alongside site survey and design work, it resold tools for Wi-Fi design, surveying, troubleshooting and monitoring. Today it builds its own software for those same jobs, shaped by that hands-on experience of how engineers actually plan, check and prove a wireless network. Wi-Fi Studio covers design, surveys and troubleshooting now, and monitoring is coming soon.
Wi-Fi Studio runs in your web browser. It brings network inspection, predictive design in 2D and 3D, site surveys and reporting together in one place, and it supports WLAN Pi as capture hardware. Wi-Fi Studio is currently in private beta, and you can request beta access to try it.

The antenna compatibility checker came from seeing engineers order the wrong connector style or the wrong number of connectors. Each tool is meant to answer one practical question quickly, so you can get back to the job.
